So let me say this upfront, I'm not a Pokemon fan & my understanding of the series and its lore is loose at best. Haven't played a game since Sapphire, though one of these days I want to get around to the remake of Silver. I have some friends huge into it though.

NOW THIS SAID-
What the actual fuck are Pokemon? I am always confused about it and I found myself thinking about it for some reason. So the natural assumption first is Pokemon are animals in that universe, but then there's also sometimes animals that aren't Pokemon and there's Pokemon that
clearly aren't animals. So then you think, well are they like some other entity, like in Digimon their virtual creatures. But then there's really weird descriptions for some Pokemon like there's a Pokemon that's a ghost of a human child or something. And then Pokemon die, but
there's also ghost Pokemon, there's a Pokemon graveyard in the first Pokemon game, but yet Pokemon don't apparently turn into Ghost Pokemon when they die, and some of those ghost Pokemon were once human?

Then we get into the weird sexualization in-universe of certain Pokemon,
Like that time your mom really wants to bang those Machokes moving your place in, or that girl that has some sorta' relationship with her dog Pokemon, or that Pokemon cafe in Sun/Moon where they're checking out the Pokemon working there. Speaking of which, why are there Pokemon
with JOBS? Why are there Pokemon that work, what do they spend their earnings on? Do they have taxes and bills to pay?

Where do Pokemon go when you put them in the Pokeballs? Are they happy in there? Do they just lose consciousness and when inside and only become aware when
released yet again?

So why in the anime does Team Rocket's Meowth learn how to speak English to impress a girl, can Pokemon learn English but most just choose not to? And yet Meowth can speak literally every other Pokemon language, and it seems like all Pokemon can speak to one
another, so is there some universal Pokemon language that just sound like they say their name all the time or whatever those electronic sounds are in the game?

All Pokemon lay eggs also, that's very established with the breeding centers that Pokemon lay eggs. But how do some of
these guys lay eggs? And why do they all lay eggs? Also why the fuck do Pokemon get busy at the Daycare, what the fuck are the Daycare people doing!?

There's Safari Zones for Pokemon, we know Pokemon live in the wild, yet there's like no laws on their capture & domestication.
and in universe when you capture a Pokemon you own it. Are Pokemon slaves? If Pokemon are intelligent enough to learn English, to work a job, and all other sorts of things, why do Pokemon Trainers enslave them? I know the series guises it as friendship, but come the fuck on!
Yeah, I'm sure they love being caught out of the wild and forced to battle for you against others, or to be forced as friends. I know they circumvent this that a "bond" is created and everything's happy and fine and I guess the Pokemon like it, but it really does sound like some
stockholm syndrome situation. And then Pokemon have weird properties that make no sense, like in the recent Sword/Shield game I guess Pokemon can just become kaiju, like what the fuck is the Gigantamax Factor? "Ah yeah, my Pokemon can turn REAL BIG because of this regions
Gigantamax Factor!" What the fuck does that even MEAN!? I know Dynamax is some energy from a long defeated thousand year old demon lord Pokemon or something, I got that much, but what? Like seriously, like what? What type of energy makes Pokemon transform into kaijus? What the
fuck are going into their systems to cause that evolution? What exactly is Pokemon evolution, is it age growth? Do Pokemon store energy to evolve? You as a trainer can stop their evolution, some need stones to evolve, what am I missing here?

What the fuck is a Pokemon!?
