A country which hasn't had much attention but which is really interesting is Greece

old population?-check. multi-generational households?-check. weakened state?-check

Yet they've had 2,207 cases and only 105 deaths.

Common theme of countries like this was taking action v early
Greece closed schools and prohibited public events even before the first 100 cases were detected

Similar success stories: Denmark, Norway, Austria, countries which acted v quickly and v early
On 12th March, I used this chart to illustrate that Britain wasn't implementing forced social distancing measures when at the time other countries were. Some objected to it saying that we were further behind the curve then these places...
However, what seems increasingly obvious is that the countries which have had most success didn't pay attention to where they were on the curve but rather acted v quickly to suppress infection before it became a problem.
Of course, these countries could find they're in a bigger problem further down the line, as they'll have less immunity in their populations. That said, given govt says that was never their policy, we can't really credit them with that outcome. Plus we can't know if immunity lasts
All depends on what happens, especially with 2nd wave etc and it might not matter politically (if public doesn't care and thinks govt did best job it could) but seems to me efforts of inevitable inquiry will focus much on what happened (and what didn't) in that wk of 9th March.
