In the UK, total tests numbered just short of 16,000 on Tuesday.

This is extraordinary. They have set up a well equipped lab with highly trained personnel in Milton Keynes. Current capacity 5k test a day-expansion to 30k.
Yet on Sun they were sent 1.8k. 1.3k Mon. 1k on Tues.

Is the problem is that swab sites are geographically inconvenient? Does anyone go to the care homes & hospitals?
How much is it because too many are discouraged from taking them? Or turned away like the respiratory medic refused a test in the NW because he’s not symptomatic?

How easy is it to get the swabs to the lab in MK and the results back to the right person, GP, Hospital, Care home?
IT IS AN OUTRAGE that people are dying without tests and GPs and Coroners then do not even put COVID on the death certificate “because there was no test”.

So. In 3 days they had the capacity to do 15k tests at least and did just 4.1k.
Forgive me, but unless the Community corpse situation is far worse than even I imagined surely that would have been enough to test every one where there was a doubt. And the residents & staff after

A lot of these patients may well have some dementia and quite hard to get nasopharyngeal samples.
