It was unexpected, to say the least. Because Jungkook hated Taehyung. But one night, they’re suddenly mates. The night Jungkook turned 20, the night where the bombed was dropped that Taehyung is his mate.

Taehyung thought it was a joke. He thought his whole life was a joke, if he’s being honest. When his eyes met Jungkook’s own menacing eyes, he knew Jungkook was imprinting him. And that’s how things started to get worse.

He’s at a cafe outside their university, brainstorming with his model Seojun when Jungkook entered the same cafe too.
Jungkook’s scent is too strong, it makes Taehyung’s mind go haywired, he’s already very affected by Jungkook even though they didn’t mark each other up yet.

Jungkook went straight to their table, scoffing. “I see you have a thing for Alphas who have nice muscles?”
“Jungkook, please.” Taehyung plead. Feeling embarrassed.
“Please what, darling?” Jungkook snickered.

“You know, if you want to replace me, you should try harder.” He added, turning his back to the duo and proceeding to snake his arms around some omega he’s been with.

Seojun and Taehyung met at some park, finally doing his project about getting your own muse, and capturing them doing their own things. And Taehyung wanted his photographs to be naturally candid, so he chose to have their photoshoots outdoor.

But the universe seems like they love to torture Taehyung, because in a far distance, he can see Jungkook with a new person, probably an omega, laughing at something.
Taehyung scoffed, mood turning sour.

“You know, I don’t know why you and your mate just, you know, go for it,” Seojun said.
“What do you mean?” Tae asked, confused.
“I don’t know, Tae. Like maybe try to be together.” He explained.

Taehyung rolled his eyes. “As if he wants to anything with me, anyway.” Tae said, bringing his camera up, capturing Seeojun’s frown, that turned into a natural smile when he looked up at Taehyung.

Taehyung knows he shouldn’t, but he thinks that he’s starting to like Seojun. He still feel guilty, because he feels like he’s cheating from his own mate. His mate that doesn’t care about. He scoffed. ‘As if I want to be his mate too.’
He’s waiting for Seojun at the cafe.

The older man promised him he’ll treat him and Taehyung felt happy. Because someone wants to treat him, at least.
When Seojun arrived, it’s at the same time he saw Jungkook at the corner too.

By now, he won’t be surprise if he sees his mate everywhere he goes, especially if he’s happy. He couldn’t care less though, he just looked at Seojun’s face and he forgot about Jungkook already.

They’re talking about something when he suddenly felt a cold water being pour onto his shirt.

“Bro, what the fuck?!” Seojun said, stopping the man who did it.
“Get off of me,” The man growled lowly, and Taehyung recognized it. Of course.

“What the hell is your problem with Taehyung, Jungkook?” Seojun asked, Taehyung still frozen in place.
“None of your business,” Jungkook snickered, “Besides, his ugly outfit deserves it, anyway.” He said, and then turned around.

Taehyung couldn’t even say anything before a strong arms picked him up, Seojun whispering sweet words to him, heading for his car. Taehyung just feels terrible.

Taehyung got a lot of things in his mind. First, he couldn’t sleep. Second, his deadlines are killing him. So when he bumped into a strong arms, and felt himself fly and hitting his back against the wall, he wasn’t surprised when Jungkook is growling at him.

“Watch where you’re going, slut.” His mate said.
Taehyung didn’t answer, he’s just thankful that no one is there to witness and hear it. Lowering his head, he just continued walking, feeling ashamed, to his next class, and never looked back up.

Taehyung saw Jungkook kissing a male omega at some alley on his way back to his apartment from the bookstore. Taehyung pretended he didn’t saw anything even though his wolf is whimpering because what the hell?
But Jungkook and the omega saw him,

and the omega’s mocking laugh is really crawling inside him, even going as far as, “Oh, babe, your pathetic mate saw us. What to do?”
Jungkook just smirked, “Just continue being the good boy you are, unlike him.”He said, eyes are trained to Taehyung’s own’s emotionless one.

The omega purred, kissed Jungkook again and that’s Taehyung’s cue to leave.

That night, he went to Seojun’s apartment, crying and sobbing. The older man just held him tight, calming him down.

Taehyung feels scared. There’s an unwelcome feeling in his stomach. “I guess, Jungkook. I’m sore and were na─”

“Don’t even try to finish that sentence of yours,” Jungkook said, angry. “Let’s just pretend that this didn’t happened. I can’t have my damn reputation ruined by someone like you.” He finished.

Not caring how the way Taehyung’s scent spiked up of sadness. Ignoring his wolf that’s whimpering because of what he said to his own mate.

Taehyung just watched Jungkook get dressed, holding back his tears until Jungkook slammed the door shut.
“Jin hyung, please pick me up,” A sob, and he ended the call.

Taehyung knows something isn’t right. Because suddenly, he’s feeling everything at once, and he’s throwing up. Or, when his Jin hyung, his omega friend, tried to cook for him and Jimin and he immediately flew to the bathroom to throw up.
“Taehyung-ah,” Jimin called him worriedly.

“Maybe we should get you checked.” He said when Taehyung sat down looking pale.

Taehyung cried his eyes out. There’s no way Jungkook got him pregnant in just one night. This is impossible, and unacceptable. Doesn’t mean he doesn’t want the child, though.

His friends are comforting him. At least trying to. Saying they’ll be here by his side every step of the way. Taehyung just wants to crawl into his blanket and sleep. Hoping to talk to Jungkook.

“Are you hearing yourself right now?” Jungkook said. Taehyung pestered him for a week to talk, but now the omega is just spitting nonsense.
“I’m serious, Jungkook. I’m pregnant and you’re the father,”
“That’s impossible!” Jungkook shouted.

“Why would it be impossible?” Tae asked, starting to feel helpless. “Something happened that night! And I’m 18 days pregnant, and 18 days ago, we were together.” He explained.

Jungkook just laughed, sarcastic. “I can’t accept that child, Taehyung,” He said. “I’m not even sure if that child is mine.” He said.
Taehyung feels rejected, tears trying to escape his eyes but he hold it in.

Jugkook just turned his back to him, “Just go, Taehyung. And never come back to my apartment.” He said. “Who knows if 18 days ago you had intercourse with someone and they got you pregnant?” He added.

Taehyung didn’t said anything, just walked out of his mate’s apartment. The pain in his chest is killing him. Emotionally and physically. He needs nothing more than his own mate right now. Especially with his situation.

It’s night too, he can’t accept that Jungkook just let him go like that. Knowing he’s pregnant. He can’t believe how Jungkook just accused him of sleeping with anyone, when he’s been a virgin until Jungkook got him pregnant.

So he called Seojun, waiting outside Jungkook’s building when an Alpha approached him. “What’s an unmated omega that’s pregnant doing here? Alone?” The man has an hungry look in his eyes.
Taehyung wants to cower, but just ignored the man’s word.

He felt the man groped his elbow, hissing. But Seojun came, punched the man and took Taehyung out of the scene.
Of course, it’s Seojun who will always save him. Even though his mate is just few floors up from where he is.

He felt his chest gets tighter because he can’t just fathom how his own Alpha isn’t doing everything Seojun’s doing right now. Even went as far as putting him in danger.

When Taehyung gave birth, he never felt so happy in the past nine months that he immediately burst into tears when he saw his son. Naming him Taegeuk, Taehyung can see how much his son resembles his other dad.

Taehyung’s chest hurts again thinking how Taegeuk will grow up with just one parent. But that’s okay, he thought. Because his friends is there with him, and he’ll make sure his son would receive all of his love.

Taeguek is still 3months old, and the only noise he can do other than cry is a hum and laugh. Taehyung loves it when his son laughs. He feels happy too. It’s 8AM and he took Taegeuk out so he can have his daily sun, when he saw Jungkook jogging.

He was gonna avoid him and go back too his own apartment when Jungkook saw his retreating form. He almost let out a yelp when the alpha is in front of him suddenly.
He can see Jungkook’s frown, and Taehyung instinctively tried to hide his son from the alpha.

“Relax, I won’t hurt him,” Jungkook said but Taehyung is still wary. “I see you already gave birth,” Jungkook said when Taehyung didn’t replied. Still staring at the boy with wide doe eyes, looking so familiar to him.

Taehyung just let out a hum in response, turning to leave with his head hang low.

It’s becoming a habit now. It’s almost as if Jungkook and Taehyung talked about meeting each other at the playground every morning, Jungkook doing runs earlier than usual, and just staying at the playground to do his daily exercise.

Everytime he’ll see Taehyung and Taegeuk (yes, he got Taehyung to tell him the kid’s name,) leave the park, he’ll come up to them just to see a glimpse of the child. Even if it’s just for 5 seconds.

Hell, Jungkook never treasured a second in his life before until he saw the kid’s big doe eyes. Although he won’t ever admit it, but he actually looks forward to seeing the two, never been eager to do his exercises until now.

Jungkook usually loves rain. He loves looking at the view from his window while the rain is pouring and sipping his coffee. But not now. Because it’s 6AM and he was ready to leave when he saw the heavy rain and his morning is instantly ruined.

For that, he doesn’t know why. Because he have his own gym at his home anyway, but he can’t help the disappointment and dreading feeling he’s feeling right now as he just looks at his window, wishing for the rain to stop so he can go out to do his daily work out.

Even tho he can just do it at his place.

The rain never stopped. And so is the frown on his face. The whole day.

The next day, he didn’t saw Taehyung and Taeguek. And the next day. And the next day after that. And after that. And after that. He’s getting worried and disappointed. He even went as far as going to the playground at 5AM, leaving at 11AM.

He’s very worried. That’s why when he get a whiff of Taehyung’s scent from the distance, he immediately turned and saw Taehyung walking, Taegeuk in his arms. He couldn’t help his self, his wolf dying to see the two, and so he jogs to the two, not caring about his pride.

“Hey, Tae,” He greeted when he got close, looking at Taegeuk, “And hello, little Taegeuk.” He said sweetly. The litte bundle of joy just reached for him and smiled. Taehyung nodding and giving him a small smile as a greeting.

Taegeuk still trying to reach out for Jungkook and he looked at Taehyung, unsure.
“He wants to hold you,” Taehyung said.he can’t help but feel giddy because finally, finally, the omega said more than two words to him.

“Oh no, baby,” Jungkook said, “Kookie is dirty right now.” He added, making a show of showing his hands and damped towel. Voice sounding a litte bit sad because heck yeah, he wants to hold him too.

Taeguek just frowned, humming angrily, reaching for him again. (he believes he hummed cutely tho.)
“I can’t, baby,” Jungkook said. “Even though I want to, I can’t.” He whined because why the hell does he have too be so sweaty now?

He looked at Taehyung, “I haven’t seen you two for a few day.” He said. Tae just hummed. “Did something happened?” He inquired again.
Tae looked at him, “Geuk was sick,” He responded. Looking down at his son again.
Jungkook let out a pained howl, his wolf is hurting so much.

This shocked Taehyung and Taegeuk tho. Both looked up at him, eyes wide. Then he heard Taegeuk cried, struggling into Taehyung’s arm, looking at Jungkook and reaching for him.
He didn’t know what to do, and Taehyung’s distressed scent isn’t helping too.

“Jungkook, you need to hold him,” Tae said when Taegeuk kicked his chest, desperately trying to reach his alpha father.
“But, Tae! I’m dirty,” Jungkook responded, distressed too.
Taegeuk only wailed harder, Taehyung almost dropping him.

“Jungkook! If youu don’t hold him now, I might drop him!” Taehyung shouted, and Jungkook’s wolf felt so much fear that he reached for Taegeuk, doesn’t know what to do.

Jungkook stopped breathing the moment his eyes landed at the child in his arms, no longer crying, and just staring up at him. Taegeuk reached for the alpha’s face, and Jungkook broke down in tears when he felt the soft touches of his own son, mittens rubbing at his face.

Jungkook doesn’t know who to thank when Taehyung agreed for him to visit Taegeuk. Jungkook dressed nicely, even picking his leather shoes, wearing a white polo paired with his jeans. Taehyung’s house is just few steps away from him, but still, he wanted to look nice.

He bought a lot of groceries and toys. Jungkook said to himself that the five full big bags he’s carrying right now is for Taegeuk, but he can’t explain why he picked meats and vegetables too, tho.

Doesn’t want to admit that he bought a little (Read: a lot) for the omega parent too.
“Jungkook, this is a lot,” Taehyung said when Jungkook placed all of the grocery bags on the table.

“It’s for Taegeuk, that’s not even a lot,” Jungkook just said nonchantly, reaching for Taegeuk’s hands.
“Taegeuk doesn’t eat solid foods yet, Jungkook.” Tae said sternly.

Taehyung wanted to say something more but he saw Jungkook carried taegeuk, and he can’t help but coo. He took his phone out, sneakily took a picture.

The visits that usually happens every weekend becomes every other day, and then becomes five times a week, and the becomes every day.
Jungkook and Taehyung are closer now too, acting like friends but Jungkook isn’t contented with that.

“What is it about?” Tae asked.
“About us.” He answered.
Taehyung frowned, “What about us?”
“Taehyung,” Jungkook starts, “I know I’ve been nothing but shitty to you, I know it was an ass move when I didn’t believed you that you’re pregnant with my son,” He said,

Taehyung frowning. “But I want to make it right now, Tae. Would you let me?” He asked, unsure.
“Jungkook, you don’t have to be with me just because we have a child,” Taehyung said.
“No, Tae. It’s not just because of that. I want to be your loving mate too.

This time, I don’t want to make sure you suffer,”Jungkook said, hoping he’s sincere enough. But he’s emotionally constipated.
“I don’t know, Kook..”
“Please, Tae. Let me at least show you, if you still don’t want to accept me, I’ll understand. I won’t force myself into your life,

but I hope you’ll still let me be with Taegeuk,” Jungkook plead.
“Okay,” Taeyung said. “We can try,” He smiled.
And Jungkook closed his eyes in relief, hugging Taehyung close and tight.
“Don’t cry now, big bad alpha,” Tae teased.
Jungkook didn’t even noticed that he was crying.

“I’m so sorry, for everything,” He said.
Taehyung just smiled at him. “Well now, you got a mission to redeem yourself, big boy.” And he went to the kitchen, trying to cook for dinner. Trying hard to will away his blush.

Not knowing that Jungkook is looking at him fondly, dumb smile plastered on his face.

If only Taehyung only looked back at Jungkook the first time he came up to him with Seojun, he see how much the alpha looked at him longingly, regret in his eyes.

If only Taehyung looked up after he’s done taking pictures of Seojun at the park, he would see the jealous look the alpha had that time. If Taehyung looked up, he would see how Jungkook subtly left a bunch of tissues and his own handkerchief so Seojun can dry Taehyung.

If only Taehyung looked up, he would see how Jungkook winced when he pushed Taehyung against the wall, how he whimpered when Jungkook called him a slut.

If only Taehyung looked back when he saw Jungkook in some alley, he would see how Jungkook pushed the male omega who kissed him, telling him to never talk to his mate like that ever again.

If only Taehyung looked up, he would see Jungkook outside his apartment when, ready to behead the alpha that groped his elbow, but Seojun came.

That doesn’t mean Jungkook didn’t almost killed the alpha that disrespected Taehyung, tho. Almost all of the alphas living there tried to stop Jungkook from killing that asshole.

If only Taehyung had looked up once, he would see how much Jungkook cared for him. He would’ve saw how Jungkook scared other alphas away, he would’ve known that Jungkook was the one who’s always riding the same bus as him when he’s going home late.

If only Taehyung would look look up and closely, he would have seen Jungkook is always there with him, protecting him from afar.

But Taehyung never did. All he knew was Jungkook hated him, but he never knew that that was Jungkook’s way so Taehyung would notice him.

And Jungkook, he’s emotionally constipated who never know when and how to properly confess, being “contented” from looking at his own mate from a distance.

But thank the moon goddess he didn’t, because if he did, he’ll feel Jungkook’s pain too. If he did, he’ll know how Jungkook got hurt when Taehyung liked Seojun.

He’ll know that Jungkook was suffering, and will understand why Jungkoo rejected Taehyung when he told him he’s pregnant. But thank god, he didn’t looked up. Because he’ll know how Jungkook haad to suffer from what he did.
