There's been a lot of controversy over research into bat coronavirus at Wuhan Institute led by "Bat Woman" Shi Zhengli. A major funder was Fauci's NIAID award R01AI110964 "Understanding the risk of Bat Coronavirus Emergence". See award search
taggs.hhs.gov/Detail/AwardDe…
2/ funding of $3.8 million since 2014 under R01AI110964 to Ecohealth Alliance Inc. (Prospect Park NY). Overall, Ecohealth has received more than $7.7 million from Fauci's NIAID.
3/ a search of "Zhengli Daszak" in Google Scholar scholar.google.ca/scholar?hl=en&…+
yields dozens of academic publications. Daszak is leading scientist at Ecohealth in NY.
4/ the Zhengli-Daszak joint research goes back to at least 2005 when Daszak was with The Consortium for Conservation Medicine
5/ checking more recent publications at random, this Nov 2017 article on SARS-related coronaviruses coauthored by Zhengli and Daszak was funded in part by NIAID R01AI110964 and also by USAID.
6/ joint research continuing thru 2019 e.g article on coronavirus reasearch joint with Wuhan and US authors, this time including authors from U of Colorado and Columbia University, as well as Ecohealth Alliance
6/ at the height of Wuhan epidemic, six weeks prior to virus getting foothold in US, Zhengli and multiple US coauthors, all of whom funded by variety of research programs, urged importance of China-US cooperation in research on emerging coronaviruses
7/ For those keen on lawsuits (which I'm not), if lab accident happened due to research partly funded by US government, wouldn't US govt be co-defendant with China in claims from rest of world?
