1/ We need to optimize testing capacities and remove inefficiencies:
Labs are currently purchasing reagent/kits at different rates. smaller quantities = more $$$.

2/ Build a system where govt negotiates a bulk order price with manufacturers/distributors and allows companies to use CSR $ to buy reagent/kits at that price and hand it over govt.
3/ Govt can redistribute to the labs for free and reduce the cost of testing or charge labs the negotiated rate and reclaim the csr money. In either case the cost of testing goes down.
4/ Every lab needs to run at 100% capacity. RN some labs have a huge back log and others have excess capacity. Need a system where no matter which lab collects the sample it is processed at a lab that has excess capacity instead of being held over night at a maxed out lab.
5/ For eg. If Mumbai has 10 labs and Pune has 3 labs, and Pune labs are back logged but 1 lab in Mumbai has 30% spare capacity then divert samples collected in Pune to that Mumbai lab.

6/ Above is doable. Needs platforms like 1mg / Practo that have a database of labs and capacities to work with labs and policy makers. Build a platform to track lab capacities in real time. Build a logistics cold chain. We can’t afford inefficient testing systems. Optimize them.
