A comparison of my old home state of Michigan/Sweden. Two places with roughly the same population (10.2 million to 9.9 million) but two vastly different approaches to #coronavirus. Michigan, perhaps the most draconian shutdown in America. Sweden the least in the Western world.
Also, consider that Michigan has 174 people per square mile. Sweden just 58. However, Sweden's largest city, Stockholm, has twice as many people as Michigan's largest city (Detroit). Stockholm also has 13k people per square mile, Detroit just 4800.
As of 8 a.m. eastern Monday, Michigan was reporting 31,424 total cases, or .3% of its population. Sweden was reporting 14,385 total cases, or .1% of its population.
Sweden was reporting 1,540 deaths, or .01% of its population. Michigan was reporting 2,391 deaths, or .02% of its population.
Sweden was reporting 12,295 active cases, or .1% of its total population. Michigan was reporting 25,796, or .2% of its population. Sweden was reporting 152 deaths per 1 million population. Michigan 240 deaths per 1 million population
Feel free to consider this data and draw your own conclusions, apart from the panic porn, about whether robbing you of your constitutional liberties/financial freedom is the winning play here. Then ask yourself why you're not seeing this data elsewhere.
