So I realize there are a million more important things going on right now, but this week, the Tara Reade story has taken a very bizarre turn.

You aren't ready for how weird this is.
On Sunday, a woman operating a pregnant horse rescue service tweeted at Joan Walsh that Reade had defrauded her charity, sending a personal vet bill for her horse to the address of the service.
Reade replied that this is a lie, accused the woman running the mare rescue of trying to solicit donors off of her assault, and declared her tweet to be a "cease and desist".
Then, after Walsh (who is tagged in all this) started being harassed in the thread, Reade accused Walsh of possibly paying the woman running the mare rescue "to get false information" on her.
This website is just so obscenely weird sometimes.

Exactly. Prematurely ending the lockdowns won't actually reopen the economy.

Most businesses will voluntarily stay shut until the public feels safe. Most consumers will stay self-quarantined until they feel safe.
In fact, the lockdowns are economically *helping* a lot of people.

With courts shut down, landlords can't evict people. Many utilities, insurers etc are not enforcing bills. All that would come crashing down on the poor if the lockdowns ended before they could safely work.
It's funny how we don't hear from all those people, though. Just the right-wing gun-toting morons demanding the right to get a haircut.

I know Nazis aren't exactly the brightest bulbs, but...
Some context: this Red Eagle guy is a prominent pro-Trump YouTuber and election analyst.

Today someone posted screenshots of his Discord server, in which he told his fans the Holocaust is a "joke" and that segregation and redlining were actually good for Black people.
So naturally, now he's been exposed, his fans are going ballistic and trying to dox the account that busted him.

But the damage is done, of course.

This is insane. Dan Kelly, who just lost re-election to the WI Supreme Ct despite GOP voter suppression, now says on the way out the door he'll reverse his decision to recuse from a case brought by his former employer that could deregister 200,000 voters. jsonline.com/story/news/pol…
I'm not a fan of judicial elections in general, but if we are going to have them, there should DEFINITELY not be a three month lame-duck period in which judges get to hear cases voters explicitly said they want someone else to rule on.
For those who don't know, the issue of whether Kelly would recuse himself from this voting rights case, which was brought by a right-wing group he has a professional relationship with, was a BIG issue in this election.

It is likely a big factor in why voters rejected him.
