Once again, the UK Government chose to use France's "all deaths" figure to compare against the number of UK coronavirus deaths, even though France breaks down deaths in hospital separately. (Makes our death toll look "better" because it's below France)

However, now that another week's worth of ONS data is available, it's been incorporated into the UK (all settings) count, and suddenly we're above every country apart from the USA and Spain, leapfrogging very wide of France and Italy.
There is a second problem with this slide. By reporting the US death toll (fair enough, *but*...) it makes all the other death tolls look relatively puny by comparison. But they've got 5x the population of the UK, so it's not remotely surprising they're higher than us.
