2/ VC is a business too, and it's being disrupted:
🙏 Building trust online gives accelerated investment timeline
🤝Access online gives accelerated networking, no more proprietary deal flow
🎙️We are all either media companies backed by assets or asset companies supported by media

3/ VCs can only really offer 3 things
💸Money
👨‍💼Experience
🕸️Network

But all of these things, depending on who is delivering, can be asymmetrically helpful or harmful

4/ The world is moving from individuals who are good at the "art" of venture to the scale of "Venture Science" and in that, the models that will define the venture capital market in the future are @cartainc @AngelList @ycombinator ... and obviously @BoostVC

5/ The difference between an angel investor and a fund manager is that a deal that does 3x doesn't return a fund, but an angel is stoked!

6/ Every early stage startup has similar stages:

💡Ideation
💻Creation
📈Distribution
⏱️Regulation

Depending on what stage you are at, success is generally determined by lowering the cost associated with of each of these elements.

VCs can be helpful in reducing those costs

7/ Networks are compounding

In venture, creating branded network that is the difference between Alumni and Portfolio is a moat! Those people involved define your brand.

🚀Authenticity and time builds a brand

YOUR BRAND AND NETWORK ARE PARAMOUNT.

8/ At the earliest stages of a startup, it is impossible to know what will work as an investor:

The common thread with successful founders I know has been:

🙇The desire to win (COMPETITIVE)
✍️Iterative habit of bettering themselves
😀Also they have been extremely likable

9/ The magic of early stage is the human connection. The potential impact that could be made. And the fun of not knowing all the answers.
