Everyday tips that could Save your Life, Literally.

#IssaThread

1 - Never walk down Stairs or Run with your Hands in your Pocket. If you slip and fall, you can use your hands to break your fall. You really don't want a Head injury, especially in Nigeria
2 - Learn CPR.

200,000 people die yearly because no one around them could start CPR immediately.
To get certified, you need to take a course. but you should have the knowledge and help save lives.
Information about this is everywhere. There really isn't an excuse not to know
3 - Never Pull out a Object from a Stab Wound. It is most likely stopping the person from bleeding out. Leave it in.

You think they are loosing blood now, wait until it comes out.
4 - ALWAYS inform a few trusted persons of your whereabouts. Whether you are going for "Coded Runs" or just a quick business trip.

It is very important and that information could be the difference between Life and Death.
5 - When in a Public Place for the first time, familiarize yourself with the Exits.

In Emergencies, The most obvious exit always gets blocked first and people would be trampled at that exit. Know the alternative routes and then you can know the safest ones
6 - In a Burning Building, Go Low.

Hot air and Smoke rises, and a lot of people would die or pass out from smoke inhalation. Drop on all fours and crawl out as fast as you can.

Also Close doors behind you as you pass. This would help limit how fast the Fire Spreads
7 - Still on Burning Buildings

Elevators aren't safe in a Fire.
You really don't want to be trapped in an enclosed metal box hanging on Metal Wires and Weights.

Take the stairs.

Always take the stairs.
8 - If the Building isnt on Fire however, Take the Elevator, especially at Night

Stairwells are usually lonely and are perfect hideout spots for miscreants.
Also the Elevator is usually in the more conspicous part of the Building. Safety in Numbers and Lit Up Areas
9 - If you are ever in a knife fight, or have to defend yourself with a sharp object, SLASH don't Stab.

Slashing does more damage, and causes bigger wounds. also has a wider range so it is more effective in unexperienced hands.

You are not Sasuke
10 - Get a Fire Extinguisher.

We have talked about burning buildings earlier, but the difference between a small fire and a big one most times is how quickly it is put out.

Also familarize yourself with various fires and what you should do in such scenarios
11 - Never Drive when Tired or Sleepy

It is a lot more dangerous than you think.
Up to 1/3 of persons who drive regularly have admitted to dozing off while driving.

A special note goes out to health workers. After your call, consider taking a nap before driving off
12 - Still on Driving, Dont Text and Drive.

The 2 seconds your eyes go off the road is more than enough time. Understand that you are in control of a Huge Metal Behemoth. Things could go south fast
Finally, the Person most likely to kill you, is you.

Guard you mental health jealously.
Depression and Suicides arent far fetched, especially in this COVID times.
