Today in English is weird: "every Tom, Dick, and Harry" is singular for verb agreement.

"Tom, Dick, and Harry" is plural.

"Every Tom, every Dick, and every Harry" is plural again, but will look weird if written correctly.
"Every Tom, Dick, and Harry is going to want in on this." (Singular)

"Tom, Dick, and Harry are going to want in on this." (Plural)

"Tom, Dick, or Harry is going to want in on this. (Singular)

"Every Tom, every Dick, and every Harry are going to want in on this." (Plural)
"Every Tom, every Dick, or every Harry is going to want in on this." (Back to singular!)
