Your darkest moments make your best stories too.

Once you make a story out of it, you detach yourself from the dark side & view it from the lens of an observer

Every story has a character, conflict & lesson

You got the character & conflict, time to find out the lesson
Mark Twain once said:

"The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why."
But I'll add on a third one:

The day that you learn that you are not your mind
Rock bottom has different paths

Some people get there via a betrayal

Some get there via getting fired

Some get there via getting robbed

Bottom line...

☆You're here
The dark periods of our lives are the polarizing moments of our lives

You're not too sure what the next step is

And people who go thru rock bottom realize its not just a mental & emotional process....its also a physical one
It's hard to sleep.

You have a loss of appetite

And energy levels begin to plummet

Which is why its crucial to have empathy for someone going thru a tough time

It's part of being a stand up person
The person going thru rock bottom THINKS they have a lot of choices to make

But ultimately, it comes down to 2

-does this moment break me?
-does this moment make me?
During the dark period its very difficult to stop thinking certain thoughts & feeling certain feelings

And the more you try to suppress them via drinking, weed, incessant partying...

The more you set yourself up for doom later on
'Why do I set myself up for doom?'

Because what you suppress fights back

If not now, then later.

If you resist, then it persists
'So what do I do?'

You observe without judgement
The term detachment gets a shaky rep

You may think it's the person that abandons everything & goes of to the moointans

But nah

Its about riding the waves rather than identifying with the water
Just observe without judgement

Whatever thoughts come up, let it

Whatever emotions come up, let it

Just make yourself aware
As you keep doing this...

You'll notice something

Who the fuck is observing me observing me??

Meaning... who is it exactly that is watching MY thoughts and emotions
This whole time in rock bottom, you were identifying with these thoughts and emotions

You were identifying with the mind and body

To notice that you're much more than that

You're the constant observer of those changes
That's why a lot of people come out of rock bottom more mature

They learn a crucial life lesson that many never learn

You aren't your thoughts and feelings

Those come and go. You are the mountain of awareness

That's your journey towards detaching
The story is a powerful force in the communication world

But it's more than that

It's also a powerful force In the game of life
You dream in stories

You consume stories from entertainment

And your ego is telling you stories every day

You're a creature of narrative

Question is, which story are you presenting to your subjective reality
The subjective world is your internal world

It is what YOU experience

When you have detached yourself from the thoughts & emotions, you have more power to influence your subjective world rather than just being a bystander
Rock bottom moment may have been the best thing that ever happened to you.

The power to craft your own narrative is the foundation of a victor.

Remember, victims can't empathize with victors.

But Victors can empathize with victims because they were once a victim
Every story is made up of a:

Character
Conflict
Lesson

These are the fundamental elements
You have the character & conflict

Now go find the lesson

Whatever it may be

Write it out rather than saying it out loud

Writing will have you being more of an observer of who you thought you were
When you look close enough, you realize you can always find SOMETHING good in the bad.

Doesn't matter how small the good is.

But its buried within

That's called the silver lining
Your darkest moments make your best stories

Ask yourself, what the silver lining is

This may not seem like much externally

But you are rewiring yourself internally

You may even feel some tingling sensations on the brain

Fear not...that's new neural pathways being formed
You're a storyteller whether you consider yourself one or not

You don't need a bunch of books, podcasts, & blogs to learn storytelling

You just need to look within
A narrative is a powerful force in this world

It builds cultures
Breaks apart civilizations
And recreates them

You have access to the superpower

And all it took was the rock bottom moment to bring awareness to it
The more stories you tell, the more your consciousness level rises.

The more your consciousness levels rise, the less you identify with the mind and body alone

You identify with the divine side of every creature
Some call it God.

Some call it the Soul.

Some stick to calling it consciousness.

That's the invisible bond (to our senses) that keeps everything running

Which allows us to experience

And that's what storytelling is all about

Making sense of your true self via tales
Now go

Turn the dark into light

Turn what you considered the end of your book into chapter 1 of the greatest story ever told

Discover who you are by finding out what you aren't
Storytelling is magic

And you realize that once you realize that you had the power over your narrative all along....
