A few days ago Trump received a letter from Mark Grenon, self-styled "religious" leader and peddler of medicinal bleach, if that's a thing which it most certainly is not.

Grenon's group, Genesis II Church of Health and Healing, was targeted by the Justice Department just this month, and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida issued a temporary injunction halting the sale of their "Miracle Mineral Solution"

(fucking bleach) as a solution for COVID-19. (They also tout it as a cure for Alzheimer’s, autism, brain cancer, HIV/AIDS, malaria, and multiple sclerosis.)

“Dear Mr President, I am praying you read this letter and intervene.”

On April 8, 2020 the FDA, jointly with the FTC, issued a warning letter to Grenon and his family, notifying them that they are violating federal law "by, among other things, distributing unapproved new drugs and misbranded drugs in interstate commerce."

Despite this warning they not only continue to sell fucking bleach with claims that it cures COVID-19, but have expressly stated that they will NOT stop.

On his Facebook page (very public and very depressing) Grenon wrote: “Trump has got the MMS and all the info!!! Things are happening folks! Lord help others to see the Truth!”

Yesterday, of course, Trump suggested we "do something, by an injection inside or almost a cleaning ... Because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it’d be interesting to check that.”

Neat.

I've seen a lot of tittering merriment that idiotic Trump supporters would believe injecting disinfectants would work and ISN'T THAT FUNNY that they'd be so gullible. Something something Darwin.

No. It isn't funny at all.

It isn't funny that a virulent, vile conman who preys on the sick and the desperate — who peddles poison tarted up like hope and does so in defiance of the law and basic human decency has this weird back-channel to the podium that faces the nation.

And that bleach guy is pretty unsavory, too.

NONE OF THIS is funny. And people dying — if indeed that were to happen — because they're gullible enough to believe a conman (the Floridian kind or the presidential) isn't funny either.

None of this is funny. It's fucking monstrous. It is so far beyond anything we've experienced so far...but how many times have I typed that?

There is no nadir.

I don't know how to end this...don't drink bleach. Also don't laugh at people who don't know. Solidarity is literally all we have left.

That and fucking guillotines.
