Working with state, local, and tribal governments, the @CDCgov will coordinate a strategy to hire, train, and deploy contact tracers who explain to people that have been in close contact with infected patients what they need to do to stay safe while protecting their privacy.
The U.S. has used contact tracing to stop the spread of STDs and tuberculosis, and other countries have begun to use this tool to stop the spread of COVID-19. Congress must step up so we can stop chasing after this virus and start fighting it head-on.
