When this all started & the nation was shut down, my suggestion was a freeze on everything.
Nobody owes ANYBODY any dang thing until the nation is re-opened.
All utilities stay on—business and personal. No rent or mortgage is due by or to ANYBODY.
Freeze it all in time.

Landlords could survive not getting rent if they also didn’t have to pay a mortgage.
Businesses could weather the storm of no customers for the same reason.
Give everyone the stimulus money so they could get FOOD
Then freeze it ALL.

Worrying about a silent threat that could snatch you or your loved ones up without warning is stressful enough.
Doing food runs dressed and armed for the apocalypse is stressful enough.
Adding the fear of losing your business or your home on top of that?

I’m not an economist & unlike my fave @ewarren who has a plan for everything—including this pandemic—I don’t know enough to know what’s BEST for our hurting nation.
But I believe if we had just put a stop on the money issues from jump, folks wouldn’t have THAT heartache too.

And again, as I said, I’m not an economist. Nor am I smart enough to figure out where and how it ends as it goes up the chain.
Maybe it stops at a billionaire (or two) who is willing to sacrifice profit for a few months for the greater good? Maybe there?

MAYBE this national tragedy is the moment where the SUPER rich realize that maybe, just MAYBE they are so greatly blessed for a time such as this.
Maybe all those stockpiles of cash were stored up JUST to save the folks who are homeless and hungry...or soon will be?
