Friend: Left-wing states will adopt a passive-resistance/coalition policy against DC so long as DJT is in power. Congress is supposed to have oversight over state-to-state pacts, the combination of the state delegations and Dem. House majority will nullify any effort to that end.
Friend: It will effectively be an ungoverned process.

Friend: --in that once everyone is aware the pathway is open, it gets used again and again. Eventually it becomes permanent. And then it assumes real legitimacy.

Me: I dunno. Maybe it's just a temporary response, both to an emergency and to the complete chaos and lack of direction from DC. Maybe it's not a real trend, with real implications.
