One of the most striking things in Christian movies is that no one ever loses their faith, they just get mad at God. "God, how could you do this to me?! I don't even believe in you!"

There is a deadly serious Christian action movie about Muslims who invent time travel so they can go back in time and kill Jesus so he can't die for our sins and of course my husband bought it because he's an actual monster.
My husband finds this hilarious. I have cringed myself in to a back injury from which I will never recover.
As an adult convert to Christianity, Jon has never run in the circles in which this would be considered a great movie. I have. We are experiencing this film very differently.

@JonahDispatch I think there's also competing understandings of what a VP is. "Bringing what is lacking" (outsider status! Woman of color! Grassroots!) is one thing. "Able to be the president in the likely event something goes south" is another.
@JonahDispatch If you think of a veep as a president supplement, it makes sense. If you think of a veep as a potential president, it doesn't.
For the latter, pretty much all the other dropped candidates would fit very well, but the obvious candidate is Harris.
@JonahDispatch Also, I'm not trying to be morbid, but in an age of 70-plus presidents, I think you need to think of veeps as potential presidents. Long life and health to Joe Biden, of course, but I hope he makes a smart choice.

This is not a discussion of the historical ability of apologists, or the validity of their claims, or their grasp of biblical studies. Ask someone else about that. I'm just talking about their function.
It seems to me that the obvious point of apologetics is either to persuade people that Christianity is true so they become Christians, or to persuade Christians that their faith is valid so they don't stop being Christians.
