.@GovernorKayIvey's plan to "re-open" Alabama this week shows no regard for human life & is prioritizing the greed & profit of the few over the health of the majority. All people of conscience should stay in place & defy these policies of extremist governors.
This same state has blocked Medicaid expansion & living wages. 2.1 mil Alabamians are poor or low wealth. 420K are uninsured. The reopen plan, driven by profit & greed, will cost lives & have long-term economic consequences & greatly impact poor & low-income folks & ppl of color.
The way we actually save our economy & support poor & impacted people is by passing a real emergency relief bill that includes all people & by implementing the other demands of the #PoorPeoplesCampaign: moveon.org/poverty
