The pursuit of General Flynn (whatever your view of him & his son per se) was the stuff of a Third World "Securitate" - except that the actual Stasi were never so stupid as to put this in writing in this way.
If the ploy to “casually slip that in” was OK for someone in the President's circle, one must assume this practice or much worse was the norm for the 'ordinary people'....this is policing from a John Le Carre novel but on the other side of the Iron Curtain
To reiterate a point I have made earlier in different cases: the whole point of the rule of law in the Anglo common law tradition is it also protects people who are unpopular & unfashionable from a Govt persecution that masquerades as a prosecution. Who guards the guards?
