Damage control should alway have a shred of credibility. When you have to order your wife to go on TV to contra-message the cult to reverse the damage of your original contra-messaging campaign. You really screwed up.
This flip flop tactic is also used to create that fabulous "fake news" where you can point to the contra of the contra to insist that the original was "made up" when in fact both are fictional universes. The Mayo Clinic requires masks. Pence knew it. His wife knows it.

I don't think the comparison of virus-linked deaths to troops who died in Vietnam is appropriate but history will not erase this event and it will always be linked to the Trump administration. And their attempts to minimize it. latimes.com/story/2020-04-…

Remember Mozambique and the Islamic State are engaged in a battle of narrative and media control. Local soldiers are badly paid, inclined to allow insurgents to raid their stocks and maybe "Sobels": soldiers/rebels...which is why they can "melt away". They live there.
Moz government is systemically corrupt as are police and military forces. The Russians figured out that pretty quick and stick to themselves now. Dog and pony shows (Moz and Zim) with Crashed Mercenary Helicopter sauce splashed on it, is not going to fix Northern Mozambique.

What's counter intuitive is that the UAE is a major center for smuggling gold bullion. Unless somebody is vewwy, vewwy angwey at you for losing a war. Haftar has squirreled away money in Serbia, Jordan and Georgia according to criminal investigators. reuters.com/article/us-gol…
