Brexit is indeed back to being a thing. A pretty important thing. Here's a business view. It doesn't make pretty reading. Particularly that no-deal will be the default setting for business investment decisions.
And this can't be stressed enough - countries negotiating trade agreements typically carry out extensive business engagement on the smallest details to ensure maximum benefits. That is a major reason deals take years. The UK government is not doing this.
I am told that in private many officials are well aware of the need for proper business consultation on the future EU deal. That we are storing up problems for the future by not doing so. But politically they have to be very careful not to openly discuss such matters.
Relevant - Labour calling for updates on negotiations after every round. A lot of questions need to be asked about the progress of EU talks, Northern Ireland, global trade etc. Coronavirus of course - but since gov will not delay transition no excuse...
