Masks Off: Republicans think companies should have the right to work you to death without penalty.

"But you're free to quit!"

Sorry, I thought businesses were opening up because people *needed* to go back to these jobs to live?
The traditional protection against loss of a wage-earning person's life is life insurance based on their expected lifetime earnings.

Will Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy offer protection to *workers* who go back, or do they only protect businesses against corona deaths?
Note that I don't think life insurance is an actual trade-off for a living parent or spouse, it's just a way of mitigating some of the economic impact.

Nor do I *want* the government to give life insurance to workers forced back to work. I know it wouldn't.
If we have to indemnify companies against the responsibility of the risks assumed by their workers in opening up this early, IT IS TOO EARLY TO OPEN UP.
If it is too early to open up, then we need other, stronger, better relief measures, measures which Murderous Mitch McConnell and Killin' Kevin McCarthy refuse to entertain until we agree to let businesses work people to death during the hazardous period.
