Only 3 #692-694, all scrapped. Built to test superheaters. Converted to CC19 class 1930 19" cylinders.

All were very proud of the C18s and so they should be.
C18 692 and A10 3 captured side by side in Ipswich railway workshops 1914. Both locomotives travelled together to Brisbane as part of a special train working.

Despite the problems with the ASGs, the railways thought that Garratts that stayed on the rails would be useful. Beyer Garratts had a proven record.

The ASGs tended to derail on curves and points and firing was difficult due to heat from firebox. It was not long before they were declared a failure in Queensland.
