For those who ask, why he would go there, with dozens of accusations of his own still pending businessinsider.com/women-accused-… - it's because he knows the mainstream media's tendency to seek 1-for-1 partisan balance gives him a chance to make it a wash for voters between Biden & himself.
And that the "both sides are villains so it's a wash on trustworthiness" take by many swing voters was precisely how he sneaked past Hillary Clinton to win in the Electoral College in 2016 by sending just enough voters to N/A or 3rd parties in 3 states. A strong motive.
For Sanders die-hards it at least seems to be about letting the media needle Biden into resigning and somehow replacing him on the ticket with Sanders. Although in the unlikely event Biden did that, why wouldn't he just cede his delegates to, say... a woman?
Because while I'm still researching this story, having been focused on covering covid19 and its calamitous impact on American communities & the economy, especially for communities of color plus this weird, violence-tinged resistance to lockdowns, I can't help but wonder:
if Sanders was the nominee or was on his way to gaining the nomination, would his supporters be pushing this case or helping Ms. Reade in the same way? Is she what they care most about, or is it getting that nomination by any means necessary, having not gotten it via votes?
And has any journalist who's been covering Biden for a long time or anyone from the '08 campaign done any writing on why these complaints, if they were written & to supervisors didn't come up in the Obama vetting process or during the general? Or did they? I genuinely don't know.
