1) It is interesting that abusing someone as `Jewish' has become common in Indian RW. A couple of decades ago, abusing Jews in the Indian RW would have been extremely rare. But today, it is a badge of honour in many people. This is Nazification of Indian RW, but unsurprising.
2) Denying the holocaust, embracing Nazi hatred of Jews, using Nazi slurs against other Hindus - all these show where sections of the Indian RW are heading. I first came across it some 4 years ago, when nameless trolls came abusing me as `a Jew' for decrying the holocaust.
3) Nameless trolls were one thing, but the episode took a more serious turn when @AgentSaffron came defending the holocaust deniers. While nameless trolls were one thing, someone like @AgentSaffron showing barely concealed hatred for Jews was a serious eye-opener.
4) Quite apart from the moral abomination of defending holocaust deniers, someone like @AgentSaffron should have been aware of the dangers of holocaust denial, and how much credibility it erodes. Jihadis and Nazis apart, very few defend holocaust deniers, due to other reasons.
5) The utilitarian reasons are very simple. No one takes holocaust deniers seriously. They are seen [quite rightly] as nutcases and Nazis and people best avoided. Defending the holocaust deniers is the quickest way to lose any credibility among one's audience and be dismissed.
6) The stigma of being considered a Nazi is extreme in all the informed audiences. So, anyone who wants to retain any credibility will avoid such folly. But then, our RW always rushes where angels fear to tread. It has since that point escalated, I see.
7) Then came the large scale abuse of people they hate as `Jews' and `married to Jews'. This is abuse straight from the Nazi playbook. `He has polluted the Aryan race consorting with Jews' was the ultimate insult for Nazis, and our RW is liberal in using the same abuse.
8) People like @ateendriyo and @alok_bhatt started the same abuses. It is inconceivable that these people are unaware of what the abuses mean, but that they revel in flinging such abuses shows how far they have bought into the antisemitic and Nazi movements. This is dangerous.
9) Quite apart from the fact that such abuses risk alienating many Jews who are sympathetic to Hindus [yes, many Jews are still sympathetic to Hindus, even while there is a segment of Jews that is very hostile to us, just as they are to Israel too], they destroy credibility.
10) All any Hinduphobe would need to do is put up these comments of Hindus abusing other Hindus as Jews to destroy our credibility, not to our enemies, but even to those who are sympathetic to us. There is no reasonable segment sympathetic to the holocaust or open antisemitism.
