So my neighbor dug up this ???-era Pepsi bottle while putting in a new garden bed -- with backwash Pepsi still inside! Can anyone date it? Old logo, the label is that kinda plastic-y, kinda styrofoam-y substance.

It was near this ancient Rite-Aid toothpaste tube.

We should all be aware of how information is filtered and biased before it reaches us — and the impact that has in shaping the information domain as we see it. We should be more conscious of when these filters as skewing what we see too much.
Accounts that aggregate news to interest groups, & named personas who are high-volume posters/commenters on news & current events can skew perceptions. Not all are bad actors, of course, but they introduce witting and unwitting bias

Dad calls.

He narrates a description of every scene of the first 3 eps of the show Run.

Halfway thru 1st ep recap: “Dad, keep talking but I am unloading the dishwasher”

“Ugh, I ran the dishwasher 3 days ago but don’t feel like unloading it. The sink is overflowing w/ dishes.”
“Same — hence, unloading”

“Well does that mean *I* have to unload dishes while we talk or can I just smoke my pipe?”

“Just smoke the pipe. Otherwise it will be confusing.”

“Ok good... I think I’ve had laundry sitting in the dryer for two weeks. Anyway, so they go upstairs...
... in the hotel and that’s when they ‘get into the act.’”

Clearly spoken with air-quotes, I find this endearing when he used to let us watch completely inappropriate movies basically from birth. But he always had some funny explanation to explain sex.

What does it mean that hacking is narrative?

We don’t discuss the concept of narrative enough—that is, the purpose of a piece of information, the story that info tells, the framework it contributes to that helps us understand both that info & other info like it in the future.
Disinformation is as much about building narrative as the specific tactics that are used to get content in front of us — about the construction of this information architecture that guides how we see and interpret information.
