So I just spoke to Twitter about their suspension of Candace Owens. They say the tweet violates their terms of service because it "tells people to violate the stay at home order in MI". They say they’ll reinstate @RealCandaceO today but only if she deletes the tweet. #FreeCandace
Apparently Twitter is now the stay at home thought police and opinion policing enforcement team. Twitter allows pedophiles to discuss their attraction to little kids but @RealCandaceO having an opinion about stay at home orders is where they draw the line. Crazy. 🤬
Twitter is treating @RealCandaceO’s situation differently than tweets we’ve seen openly defying @ICEgov orders, coordinating illegal activity or civil disobedience from civil rights groups. I asked them why. They admit they’re treating COVID-19 differently but haven’t said why.
These pick and choose standards don’t work on what has become the online public square. Twitter staff (which has a major left wing bias) can’t be the arbiter of which civil disobedience is okay or allowed. They need to let law enforcement deal with it if it’s really a problem.
