@tedcruz "This should be a wake up call for anyone who still defends China."

Calm your shit, @tedcruz. Did you know that in 2017 (Trump Era) the NIH lifted a moratorium on 'gain of function' methods for epidemiological research, increasing the chance of an accidental pandemic?
@tedcruz Here's the timeline, starting w/current knowledge then jumping back in time:

1. 2020 - Scientific testing labs incl. military, intel note the lack of indicators that a mfg virus would have. SARS-CoV-2 most likely a natural virus, not mfg in a lab.
@tedcruz 2. 2014: Obama Admin pressures NIH to end certain studies utilizing 'gain of function' methods which cd increase risk of accidental leak/lab-based transmission of a potential pandemic.
3) Dec 2017: NIH resumed studies incl g.o.f. research. **
@tedcruz **Reviews for process/protocol approval were conducted in secret.

3) In early 2019, 2 influenza research projects using g.o.f. methods were approved.

Do you know if the Trump Admin had any input or knowledge of this? Could this be why they are pushing to blame China for it?
@tedcruz You should note:

A) Anyone working with the Trump Admin, or in research touched by anything Trump-tainted, is instantly doomed.

B) Whether China knew this or not, they took precautions to ensure they were prepared.

C) Trump spent 3 years w/o restocking the nat'l stockpile.
@tedcruz D) Trump
- gutted our nat'l pandemic infrastructure
- undermined $$/resources of CDC office in China
- ignored repeated warnings of the threat, downplayed it for 70 days; the virus ran rampant thru the nation.

Do you really want to keep pushing the China thing, asshole?
