It's quite exhausting to live in a country where every single thing the government does is wrong, absurd, illogical or most frequently all three.

Especially when ample evidence from all over the world of much better ways of tackling the coronavirus is just a few clicks away.
But the deeper exhaustion comes not from the UK government's lacklustre response, but from its constant 24/7 gaslighting.

It's failing, but it's following the science and a detailed plan and doing everything at the right time.

Tens of thousands have died, but it's a success.
There's no PPE, but actually there's ample PPE except it's not in the right place, or there's plenty but people feel there's not enough, or they're too greedy in how they use it, or they're hoarding it, or people refuse to use the PPE they *need*. Oh, and gloves count twice.

Story via the Telegraph (!) is so ridiculous it beggars belief: because the UK's going it alone on a virus tracking app rather than following international standards, UK citizens may require a 2-week quarantine when they want to visit anywhere else.

Ultimate Little Englandism.
It's as ridiculous as saying: "No, we're not going to run Windows, MacOS, iOS, Android or Linux. We're going to code up a brand new operating system: Britishness 1.0."

Good luck getting that to work with anything!
UK solution: proprietary app, plus "immunity certificates" it will have to persuade every other country in the world to accept in lieu of quarantining British citizens.

Here's what really riles me about the UK's handling of the coronavirus:

I genuinely believe with all my heart that the NHS is doing a fabulous job, and more. So far above and beyond, it's incredible!

But every single time our government lies, it taints that heroic effort.
It's like a team of chefs producing magnificent food, only for the serving staff to drop their trousers and "season" random dishes along the way, before serving them to diners.

The chefs start to become tainted by association, even though their own cooking is *flawless*.
But it's worse than that, because those pirate defecators claim success for everything the chefs do, even as they're undermining the latter's efforts day in, day out.
