Trump and Republicans have made the issue whether to reopen the country regardless of if it’s safe or not because the alternative is to debate how to make our economy fair and humane.
The Reopen America travesty is a completely made-up, fabricated debate paid for and pushed by monied Republican interests and will result in needlessly sacrificing thousands of Americans, all because the only alternative is to talk about economic reform and necessary social aid.
It is obvious that the pandemic is still churning and a public health crisis. It is obvious we should continue quarantining and sheltering.
The economy can’t survive that because it is fragile and inherently and intentionally flawed. The real question is how to begin fixing it.
