You'd think the Low-Carbon potential of HS2 was obvious
1. Free up existing lines for much more frequent local services to attract people out of their gas-guzzlers.
2. Offer a better inter-city option than car, meaning cars just used for short trips, meaning EV's viable.
4. Switch freight from HGV to rail.
5. Switch short-hop air to rail.
6. Integrate better with local bus services (6 x 1-carriage trains per hr instead of 1x 6-carriage train)
But too often...
"We should stop travelling so much"
