for comparison, romney got 52% of men and obama got 55% of the women's vote in 2012
2008 is like the unicorn election because obama got 49% of men to mccain's 48% and obama won women by 13 points after kerry only won women by 4
trump got 52% of men in 2016 and hillary got 54% of women
fun fact: if we just went with women's vote we'd have presidents dukakis, kerry and h. clinton in addition to obama and b clinton. i believe the last time gop won women was reagan 84
so while people will lament that trump is winning with men, if he maintains only a +2 among men, that's very bad for him. im going to keep hammering this because i dont think people get it, but if trump is "destroyed" he'll still win minimum 40% of the vote, and prob way higher.
liberals just seem to have this idea that - while it has never happened in modern us history - that a candidate can be so disqualified he'd get under 40%. goldwater got 38.5% of the vote and he was clobbered.
