The results of hundreds of thousands of CV tests carried out at privately run drive-through centres in England have not yet been shared with GPs or local authorities, who complain they have “no idea” where local disease clusters are.

Meanwhile, the CMO for England, Prof Chris Whitty, apologised to local health leaders who have not yet received any detailed data from “pillar two” tests conducted by the private firm Deloitte over the past month. These now form the majority of tests being carried out each day
I’m afraid this is what happens when you have amateurs in Public Health mass testing and screening being undertaken.

It is so much more than the test itself. It is tracking the whole process through from beginning to end.

It always takes a massive cock up before 💡 go off.
Meanwhile people walk around infected, passing the disease onto others for want of a prompt tests.

Neither they nor do GPS and local authorities know where their own clusters are. There may be 🔥 but they don’t know where.

And contact tracing should be centred here.
Disease passes on avoidably, people die avoidably as much through administrative errors as clinical ones.

Not processing requests for tests speedily. Not sending out a test kit. Making an appointment when no staff to administer a test.

No return address slip with tests.
Sending it to the wrong lab.
Resulting the wrong person.
Not sending the result at all.
Getting the address wrong.

Letting the result letters pile up.

Yes. Failing to notify the GP.

All these are known issues and that is why QA and failsafe systems are essentials.
That is why you engage the services of public health specialists in this sort of work.

The craft is in the systems, data sets and processes not just the test.
