There are plenty of interesting snippets in this article not least about the Corbyn Shadow Cabinet meetings and the continuing delusions from that camp.

Keir Starmer: ‘The government has been slow in nearly all of the major decisions’ ft.com/content/359828…
Falconer: Under Corbyn meetings would be chaotic with people wandering in and out and showboating about pet topics.

Why am I not surprised?

Starmer “is bewildered by low standards” “all the meetings that used to be a shambles are now being run properly”
All shadow ministers have been told to arrive promptly, talk clearly, not be repetitive. The Corbyn cabinet was full of people intervening on topics that had fuck all to do with the topic they were talking about & high levels of abuse obsequiousness. That doesn’t happen any more
I think highly organised preparedness and competence are going to become increasingly attractive to the public and also increasingly threatening to the disorganised incompetent Government.

Unflashy top class engineering, instead of a flash but unreliable banger.
They never feared Corbyn and the hard left are stuck in delusion if they think they or their manifesto would have won.

And Starmer is right to be irritated to be asked to fit himself and Labour into a label.

Time to cherry pick the policies that are deliverable and appealing.
I knew he liked football. I don’t know he was such a good musician (flute, piano, recorder & violin) that he won an exhibition to the Guildhall School of Music.

He should make a bit more of that side of himself.

Compared to Johnson when he failed to win an Eton piano prize
And the delusions are still strong from the very people who coked up the opposition taking Labour to its biggest defeat.

They have neither the intellect nor the character to see that THEY did this. Not Starmer.

In that respect they share a characteristic with the Tory Gov.
People are going to find out soon enough how disastrous leaving the EU will be, if they haven’t found out already.

Aligning yourself with a disastrous plan is not as winning move.
His hard work ethic, his forensic engineering approach and good values should help him steer Labour out of chaos (if the hard left will let him. I really think some would rather keep on losing).

This will unnerve Johnson and co more than anything - as will his courtesy.
He has the gravitas to be PM. He now needs to unbutton some more. He might do well to take up music again and let it show.

Speak to people with another more personal note.
