THREAD: List of Royal Comm (unredacted) findings re #Pell:
1. Ballarat Bishop Mulkearns did not lie to his consultors, including Pell, re true reason for shifting paedophile Fr Ridsdale from parish to parish.
2. 'Inconceivable' Mulkearns deceived Pell et al. (Rejects Pell alibi)

3. "We are satisfied...Mulkearns told the consultors it was necessary to move Ridsdale...bc of complaints that he had sexually abused children. A contrary position is not tenable."
4. Conduct of any consultor (Pell) who knew & didn't advise against moving Ridsdale 'unacceptable'.

5.Pell's was consultor. Pell's conduct, therefore, "unacceptable".
6.“Lives of dozens of children and their families, likely to be more than 100, were devastated by [Ridsdale’s] conduct."
7.Pell, then-Episcopal Vicar for Education, knew of offending in Ballarat diocese from 1973.

8. When Ballarat survivor Tim Green told Pell "Brother Dowlan is touching little boys", Pell replied w words to effect of "don't be ridiculous" & walked away.
9. In early 70s, Pell told by students & priests about Brother Dowlan’s “infractions of a sexual nature with minors”.

10. Pell should have told St Pat's College Ballarat's principal about Dowlan's at very least "unwise and imprudent" behaviour. He didn't.
11. In Melb, as Auxiliary Bishop, Pell, was one of snr clerics who “received complaints or were made aware of allegations against priests”.

12. Snr priests including Pell had "capacity & opportunity to persuade the Archbishop to take action... & either did not do so or were ineffectual.”
13. “This constitutes a series of individual failures by [Pell et al] to advise, urge or influence the Archbishop to take action.”

14. Pell was on Personnel Advisory Board when paedo priest Fasciale allowed to retire"ill health".
15. "Inconceivable" that true circumstances of Fr Fasciale's resignation not discussed by PAB priests.
16. “Allowing Fr Fasciale to resign ostensibly on health grounds was wrong."

17. Pell et al allowing Fr Fasciale to retire on ill health grounds had "effect of concealing the true reasons for his resignation from the public.”
18. Fasciale died six weeks after charged by police for offences against kids.
19. Fact: Pell attended his requiem funeral mass.

20. When Pell was Auxiliary Bishop in Melb, Catholic Education Office did not deceive Pell re Doveton paedo priest Fr Searson & Pell "ought reasonably to have concluded that action needed to be taken in relation to Fr Searson".
21. Pell's evidence he was deceived: "implausible".

22. "Was incumbent on Pell, as...Bishop w responsibilities for the welfare of the children in the Catholic community of his region, to take such action as he could to advocate Fr Searson be removed/suspended or, at least, a thorough investigation be undertaken of the allegations"

23.“[Pell] should have advised the Archbishop to remove Father Searson & he did not.”
24. Re: Doveton staff telling Pell of Searson "harassment of children","in combination w prior allegation of sexual misconduct, "ought to have indicated to Pell" Searson should be "stood down".

25. Searson remained at Doveton for 12 yrs after Julie Stewart ran crying out of confessional, complaining of abuse. She told principal immediately. He lost career trying to expose Searson. Doveton staff met with Bishop Pell 5 yrs after Julie's abuse. Pell removed him 7yrs later.

26. Archdiocese handling of Searson 'a failure of management & a failure by individual Church personnel'.
27. Searson died & also got requiem mass.
28. RC rejected David Ridsdale "bribe" allegation. Was already public. As was accepting Pell didn't say "Gerry's rooting boys".
