1. SARS-CoV-2 is not a mutated version of SARS-CoV-1. They sisters (not mother-daughter) in the same lineage of viruses that naturally circulate in bat populations, and have for centuries if not millenia.

3. Even if SARS-CoV-2 made a relatively quick leap from whatever bat SARS-like coronavirus it came from, the prevailing wisdom is that there was most likely a recombination event. Recombination changes a large part of the genome all at once. And it occurs NATURALLY. (6/n)
Now, did human foraging and illegal trade behaviors potentially "accelerate" the evolution of SARS-CoV-2 by placing live animals together that may not have naturally interacted much in the wild, potentially facilitating a recombination event? Maybe. (7/n)
But we know that people in rural China are naturally infected and immunized with bat coronaviruses where they circulate naturally, and bats do sometimes interact with other wildlife. The point is: we do not yet know. It's hardly a nail in any coffin. (8/n)
And this is where I stopped listening, because it's clear she either has her facts wrong or is intentionally being misleading.
I'd encourage anyone considering her story to tread carefully.
