In an interview, Deputy Defense Minister Alexei Krivoruchko said they expect to adopt the Tsirkon hypersonic missile in 2021-2022 (it also says 2020-2021), which will equip Project 885, 885M, 949AM, 22350, 23560 ships/subs and the Admiral Nakhimov cruiser.

Mentioning the Project 23560 Lider-class destroyer is interesting given that design work had apparently stopped. This doesn't include the smaller version of the Tsirkon that is being developed for corvettes and small missile ships. 2/

He again said adoption of the Su-57 will happen in two stages with procurement of Su-57 with the "4th generation" Izdelie 117 engine to continue until the mid-2020s when Su-57 with the new "5th generation" Izdelie 30 engine will be adopted.

Krivoruchko said that the MoD expects to receive the first S-500 system and sign a contract for future deliveries next year. He said further deliveries would occur in 2025 (the same thing he said in December). The S-500 has been heavily delayed though.

He said that the MoD was preparing to sign a new contract for the S-400 this year, which would continue to be procured until 2024. The Russian military has already received ~63 S-400 battalions. 5/

He said a new contract was being prepared for the S-350 air defense system, the 1st of which was delivered in 2019. The contract would be for 4 systems to be delivered between 2021-2023. 6/

He said the MoD signed contracts for 8 Tor-M2, 2 arctic Tor-M2DT, 7 Buk-M3, and 1 S-300V4 air defense system brigade sets. He said procurement of the Tor-M2U ended in 2016.

Regarding naval procurement, Krivoruchko said the Navy would receive:
-22 ships and submarines and 15 auxiliary boats in 2020
-20 ships and submarines and 20 auxiliary boats in 2021
-19 ships and submarines and 19 auxiliary boats in 2022

One consequence of COVID-19 is that many arms export deals will likely be postponed or canceled. As an example, India's defense industry has suggested that India divert funds from arms imports to local industries, 40% of which could soon face bankruptcy.

That was from an Ernst & Young study that said that more than 40% of India's small and medium-size defense companies face closure within 3 months absent government action. In addition, India's federal Ministry of Finance has reduced defense spending. 2/

It seems highly likely that India and other large arms importers will have to delay or cancel many of their existing import contracts and future tenders. Of course, this would place greater pressure on arms exporter governments like Russia to support their defense companies. 3/

As some have pointed out, this system looks more similar to the Pantsir with a MAN SX45 8×8 chassis (which is only operated by UAE, and has been spotted in Libya) than the normal KAMAZ-6560 8x8, so I'm going to delete the tweet. ImageImage
According to @Metin4020, the Turkish servicemen were part of a 400-man mechanized infantry battalion, which was struck at around 5 pm on Thursday by two Syrian Su-22 and Russian Su-34 aircraft that had previously struck SNA targets around 11 am. 64/

@Metin4020 He reports that air strikes from the Su-22 stopped the Turkish convoy, which led the Turkish servicemen to take cover in the buildings near the road. He says two of the buildings were then struck by Russian aircraft, possibly with KAB-1500L penetrating bombs (Kab-1500L-Pr). 65/ Image

Video purportedly showing Turkish-backed rebels firing a MANPADS that downed a Syrian Mi-17 helicopter in Idlib on Tuesday. An increased MANPADS threat will make it more difficult for the Syrian and Russian Air Force to conduct air strikes in the region.

So it looks like another Syrian Mi-8/17 helicopter was shot down by a MANPADS, presumably from Turkish forces or Turkish-backed rebels. Russia could still drop PGMs from Su-34 and stay out of MANPADS range but not Syrian aircraft or Russian helos.
