Today is VE or V-E day, the day that celebrates the surrender of Nazi Germany and the end of World War II in Germany.

2. Let us all remember that different and adversary forces united to defeat fascism, of which nazism is a particular expression, because it was understood as the greatest threat to Humanity.

3. The Greatest Enemy for which there is only one solution: complete destruction and submission.
The trumpist base waving confederate and nazi flags, the Bolsonaro supporters and all the far-right/white supremacist groups are EXACTLY that.
4. There were in the past, they are in the present and will be in the future Humanity's greatest enemy for which, again, one thing only is the solution: complete defeat and submission.

1. It wasn't my first or even second. However, being sick with COVID in the USA, the ONLY country among the developed and developing countries without a National Public Health Care System was a very new experience.

2. The first thing I did before anything was too much of an effort for my hypoxic brain was to figure out the abnormal and anomalous American HCS. I have a @BCBSAssociation insurance. They are blatantly committing fraud and charging co-pay for COVID testing and consult.
3. I had a supplemental private insurance in Brazil. As anywhere else except the USA, insurance covers 100% of the cost of anything. The idea of an 80K co-pay at 57 years old was simply illogical.

1. Hypothetically...

- you are right-wing, racist and you hate immigrants and brown people in general
- you want to open the economy and go back to work (or make others work)
- this can only happen if the pandemic reaches some level of control
2. Should you support health care to undocumented immigrants, given that not treating them will maintain contagion at unknown and possibly high levels?

For selfish reasons alone, even if you are a despicable fascist, you should.
3. Considering that immigrants are the cheapest demographic segment in American society, contributing a lot (underpaid, unqualified work, paying taxes and not eligible for benefits) and receiving very little, should you support pandemic financial support to them?

@CheriJacobus 1. The reactions to your tweet tell me there's something missing from it: when, how and what made you feel "just a Karen"? The way you worded it sounds like an empty complaint (whining). Recently, I've been asked "what is a Karen" by my Brazilian friends.
@CheriJacobus 2. I've lived on and off in the US but only since 2017 as a permanent resident. Let's go back in time for white privilege: my EB-1A visa was fast-tracked and approved in 14 months while brown immigrants may take decades to get their greencards or not at all.
@CheriJacobus 3. Why? Because I came from white privilege which "naturally" led to high academic accomplishment. To add insult to injury, my education was fully funded by the government while others have to pay for theirs. "Merit" is socially constructed.
