1. It wasn't my first or even second. However, being sick with COVID in the USA, the ONLY country among the developed and developing countries without a National Public Health Care System was a very new experience.

2. The first thing I did before anything was too much of an effort for my hypoxic brain was to figure out the abnormal and anomalous American HCS. I have a @BCBSAssociation insurance. They are blatantly committing fraud and charging co-pay for COVID testing and consult.
3. I had a supplemental private insurance in Brazil. As anywhere else except the USA, insurance covers 100% of the cost of anything. The idea of an 80K co-pay at 57 years old was simply illogical.
4. The only alternative was to accept the (possibly) higher chances of death at home. This is called NECROPOLITICS: the idea that it's ok to get rid of part of a given population. The US are the testing ground for global NECROPOLITICS.
5. I left all the legal documents denying permission for hospitalization since I had proof that @BCBSM would kill me with an illegal unpayable debt.
6. I am a health researcher. I am in the US because I'm an exceptional one: I have the EB-1A visa (exceptional ability and higher degree), now not so cool because it was given to Melania, who wouldn't be able to provide proof of exceptional ability as a sex worker.
7. I searched the best CPAP masks and machines on the market because all a hospital can do is provide positive air pressure.
8. I could handle things that hospitalized patients can't such as nebulizing medication.
9. What I want you, reader, to understand, is that no matter how good I am in my profession, having so little O2 saturation that getting up to pee is like a marathon does makes things... much... slower.
10. I had a conversation with my daughter and siblings and I know it was hard on them. It was even harder on my husband, who admitted to me he almost took me to the ER a couple of times.
11. I understand his terror and it's horrible to spell it out: sorry, but I was still conscious and I had a legal document to back me. He wouldn't be able to hospitalize me.
12. On the other hand, I left all my documented claims against the @BCBSAssociation so that my family could file a millionaire legal action against them: not only they violated their own public statement but they would have induced a death decision.
13. Well, I didn't die. I also know that I have to be very cautious and leave the US at the slightest threat of health risk. This country is doomed. It makes me so sad and determined to help the American disenfranchised populations.
14. I hope you realize, with my story, that corporations MUST BE REGULATED. By themselves, they kill people and they kill themselves and the economy. They are not people. So they must be regulated.
15. @BCBSAssociation would have murdered me and not just have an illegal couple of tests to report to. How many other people did they actually kill? How many people chose death over a debt their families would have to cope with?
16. I don't know. I do know that I have a child and I would never, ever, leave her to handle a murderous corporation and an irresponsible government.
