1/3 The ugly side of statins ? is there any other side ? There is increased risk of Diabetes Mellitus, Cataract formation, and Erectile Dysfunction in young statin users, all of which are alarming. Furthermore there is a significant increase in the risk of cancer and
2/3 neurodegenerative disorders in the elderly plus an enhanced risk of a myriad of infectious diseases.
All side effects are dose dependant and persist during treatment.

Statins are associated with triple the risk of coronary artery and aortic calcification.
3/3 These findings on statin major adverse effects has been under-reported and the way in which they were withheld from the public, and even concealed, is a scientific farce.

*The composite end point included measures that were less objective; hence, the accuracy of these measures as used across 49 different

1/5 Both Atherosclerosis and Alzheimer’s disease (AD) bear some striking similarities. In the case of AD amyloid beta Aβ is (an antimicrobial peptide), an innate immune defense molecule that utilizes fibrillation, & tries to protect the host from a wide range of free radical
2/5 damage and infectious agents. In the case of Atherosclerosis various lipoproteins which are part of the innate immune response come to the rescue. In AD studies have shown that HIV infection increases intra and possibly extracellular amyloid beta.
3/5 There are also a many studies pointing to infection as a contributor in Atherosclerosis.
I think we need to stop laying the blame on amyloid beta and cholesterol. Anti-amyloid drugs don’t work for AD, and cholesterol lowering drugs (statins) don’t work

1/3 Lots of talk about Vitamin D & Covid-19.
Cholesterol metabolism and Vitamin D both share the same metabolic pathway. (see diagram) Therefore, it's possible there may be a high frequency of Vit. D deficiency in patients who use statins for dyslipidemia
2/3 Inhibiting the production of cholesterol in the liver will also reduce the production of 7-dehydrocholesterol. This would lead to a low Vit. D concentration in the body.

7-dehydrocholesterol is a prohormone which is a precursor molecule of cholesterol and pre-Vitamin D3
