The doctors at #SionHospital , especially residents who do the heavy lifting are utterly demoralised at the transfer of a hard-working Dean who was desperately trying to cope in trying conditions! Insensitive Govt.

Doctor warm that we the public can rant, the media can whip up hysteria through politically coloured coverage but if it continues the system will just crumble- it is already at breaking point! These doctors need a voice. Calling serious healthcare reporters to give them a voice!
The burden cannot be on young resident doctors alone. I learn that many seniors do not visit wards or even leave their cabins. The support staff is even more concerned. Hygiene and cleaning have become serious matters! There are simply no solutions.
One major hospital has a problem with how to deal with bed sheets of Covid19 patients! The staff doesn’t want to touch them leave alone sent them to the usual Dhobi. In another major hospital the OPD covers not change for 30

These doctors say that we are days or weeks away from a time when the old and infirm- call them people with Co- morbidities will not get treatment because the system is overwhelmed and falling apart. Roping in the private sector is not an option anymore. Has to be done!
The rest of us who think clapping and cheering or passing around soppy messages to “salute” health workers but ranting viciously when we see the horrific reality- we won’t be able to stand on the sidelines! As @hemantmorparia says- all the work is not medical. Will be volunteers?

And before I forget, the harassment from corporators and politicians is also having a debilitating impact. Over time, only those with influence will be treated- one corporator demanded that oxygen be pulled off a more serious patient and given to one who didn’t need it !
