Getting annoyed with a certain NYT columnist who claims to own the religious left. I grew up with Socialist Civil Rights worker parents. A locus of that movement was the Church. I wrote this about a close family friend.

Ignoring the breadth of the link between the left & black churches is just so...white. I was fortunate to be raised with this access. But someone with a bazillion degrees in religion, including from Jesus College, really should know these things & not be spewing fake news.
How does Breunig ignore people like Bishop Harris or MLK and that whole phalanx of the left that was the CRM? And what of people like Rev. Barber and his anti-poverty movement and Moral Mondays? How is he not a left leader? It's a conundrum.
