GOOD NEWS. After 31 years, a suspect has been arrested in 1988 death of Scott Johnson who was found at the bottom of a cliff in Australia.The police refused to investigate, said it was suicide. Scott was gay. So were 87 other men found dead for no cause.1/

His brother Steve, my close friend and colleague, knew that Scott had been killed, thrown from the cliff, the victim of a hate crime. But times were different then; police didn't care; society didn't view the LGBTQ community as equal. Gay men were hunted for sport. 2/

Anyway, when good happens to friends -- especially after a tragedy -- it is time to celebrate. But when that closure provides justice for the hate and violence against innocent gay men that left so many dead, it may just be 2020 has a little heart left. It is a good night. 6/6
