SAM is made up of current and former Democrats, Republicans, and independents simply wanting to change the politics we've grown to accept.
We desperately need better from our government – our entire government. COVID-19 was not a tragedy brought on by missed intelligence, it was brought on by the missed opportunity of a careless Administration and a distracted Congress. I know. I was there.
SAM believes we fix our government by fixing our politics.
By ending gerrymandering and taxpayer funding of partisan primaries, advancing ranked choice voting, and running third party candidates where appropriate, we can take a shot at restoring a meritocracy in politics.

SAM’s platform is one of problem solving, competition, accountability, and promoting candidates with cross-partisan appeal. For those seeking an organization of rigid ideology, we’re probably not a fit for you. But for those seeking consensus-driven politics, we probably are.
SAM operates as a democracy reform organization in most states, except in NY where the SAM Party is 1 of 8 official parties. As we grow, and where it makes sense to run a SAM candidate, we'll do so; and where it makes sense to endorse a candidate from a major party, we'll do so.
