@JoeNBC If any past US president had accused a prominent citizen of murder, that accusation would have reverberated around the world.

But Trump? Even his friends and defenders shrug off his words as jokes and embarrassments.
It's as if even his allies have agreed to treat Trump as a street corner derelict, whose mutterings and shoutings are to be ignored as so much crazy, empty noise.

If you think it's noisy now ... In about 6 weeks time, the Supreme Court will either

a) have ordered Trump's bankers and accountants to surrender Trump's tax and bank records

or

b) by 5-4 majority overturned every relevant precedent to allow Trump to conceal records.
That stark alternative raises questions

1) How hard is Trump White House pressuring the Republican-appointed justices to protect Trump

and

2) If pressure fails, and Court follows the law and rules against Trump, what options does Trump have for subverting/defying Court?
The records case is existential for Trump. His present geschrei-ing about Obama being mean to him won't resonate very loud in a world in which Congress for the first time has at least a partially open window into Trump's business record
