If Trump loses in November, is there anyone that thinks he would accept the election result as legitimate?

What he can do about it is another matter. Especially if it’s not close. But it’s not just another election.
I don’t think it will lead to mass violence.

Nor do I think it will change the outcome.

But it’s going to be an incredibly ugly few months.

And getting legislation done—at a time the country will still be in economic crisis—is going to be tough sledding.
Right now Biden/Trump feels close to a coin flip to me.

Massive recession hurts Trump.

Social distancing/low turnout hurts Biden.

Trump well down in national polls but swing states are closer.

Campaign efforts to taken Biden down haven’t started yet.

Most Chinese leaders I’ve spoken with want a second Trump term.

They think relationship with US will be more confrontational whoever wins in November.

But they see Trump’s #AmericaFirst unilateralism and poor relations w many allies providing more opportunity for China.
Trump Admin has been particularly troublesome for China on technology. And they don’t like the tariffs.

But no focus on human rights from Trump, a big win for Beijing.

And Trump pulled US out of TPP, the most important strategic balancer vs China.
If Trump decides blaming China for the pandemic is core to his re-election campaign and puts muscle behind it, could shift the equation.

But so far Trump’s been careful to continue to praise President Xi.
