ACTION ALERT-- Friday 5/15/20 at 9:00 am Public Hearing on WESELPA Local Plan-- Speakers and/or comment letters needed

Dear Friends,

The WESELPA will be holding a public hearing on its local Plan (Item B3) this Friday. I will be asking the Superintendent’s Council to postpone
this item because the current SELPA Administrator is leaving and the new one should be afforded the opportunity to provide input. The CA department of Education has allowed an extension on the local plan due to the current pandemic so it is not necessary to be in such a rush.
Additionally, under Item E we have the approval of black check contracts (no maximum amount specified) for lawyers and lobbyists.

We need
letters and comments during the meeting to oppose these expenditures, especially Item E7 which is a blank check to FFF who has been victimizing our community and profiting from the denial of services to our kids. Please let me know if you would be willing to participate and I
will provide additional details. You do not have to be in the WESELPA area to participate, you are still a taxpayer in California and these are your hard earned dollars. We need all hands on deck.

Misappropriation of special education resources for litigation FYI… Thought to share that a SEAL has filed a complaint for fraud with the @SBCounty auditor. Law firms such as FFF are “vendors” being paid out of the county treasury in our county. In their case, the school board
never approved any litigation (the Brown Act requires the approval be at a public meeting) and in fact approved a settlement; so the argument is that any litigation was not authorized and is misappropriation of public funds. There is a button on the
