Wohl and Burkman called me the next day, to shovel some more (if totally different) BS; you can hear essentially what they said to me on this radio program. Whether they are motivated by ideology or the fabulists' high is unclear
Which brings me to Reade and her motivations. Deep in her amazing piece, Cathy covers what my gut says: resentment; thinking that sweetening (sorry) her stories (Biden, divorce et al) might get her where she wants to go faster, that of being seen as valued but ultimately wronged
My pal and I were given absolute worlds of shit for talking about this fifteen months ago, how there is power in being the victim, how people will misuse this power for their own (or others') means. I've written about this my whole goddamn life, don't tell me this doesn't happen
I feel zero schadenfreude at Reade being busted, she probably won't be; people will keep skipping down the garden path and giving Pulitzers to narratives massaged to a fare thee well to suit their agendae. All I'll say is, bravo @CathyYoung63. Now for a cup of coffee
