Homicide always requires a certain hubris: a pride that vaunts the "wants" or "needs" of the killer over the life of the killed.
That hubris was on display with a posting from "Auntie Lynn." That posting directed itself to the women of Georgia (and other States adopting "heartbeat" abortion restrictions).
The posting pretends to be an invitational note from an old Auntie who lives in New York. Well, no, it is an invitation so it isn't a pretense in that respect.
The pretense is that it comes from one's Aunt rather than from folks involved in murdering uterine children for hire. Auntie Lynn wants poor repressed mothers in Georgia and elsewhere to know that abortions will still be available to them in New York.
Auntie Lynn assured her readers that they would be welcome, would be treated like family (isn't this what family is about, killing off the progeny?), and will be feted in such a way that social media of a visit to NY will look like a vacation not a trip to a death center.
Yes, you see, in the snarky fashion that guns for hire can have, in their hubris, these folks are calling themselves the #undergroundrailroad2019.
What complete assery.
The underground railroad didn't lead to Auschwitz, to Bergen Belsen, to Dachau. The Third Reich's railroads did. To know whether Auntie Lynn is a new Harriet Tubman or an Adolf Eichmann, you simply look at the terminal station of the railroad.
The real Underground Railroad was a road to life. It was a road to recognition of equal dignity as humans of African slaves.
Harriet Tubman's railroad operated on the basic principle of that very HUMANITY that Southerners denied every time they claimed that blacks were the mere chattels of plantation owners.
So, in the rather Rashida Tlaib fashion of a complete rewrite of the Palestinian cooperation with Adolf Hitler, Auntie Lynn converted the road to life that was the Underground Railroad into a railroad to death and destruction, which is what abortion always involves.
